FAQ

Questions and answers

What is a hardcover book and what are its advantages?
A hardcover book (also known as a "hardcover" or "7BC") is an edition where the book block is protected by a rigid cardboard cover covered with vinyl or laminated paper. The main advantages are durability, presentable appearance, better shape retention and high resistance to damage.
What types of hardcover do you offer?
We specialize in 7BC (solid cardboard covered) binding, which is the most popular and reliable. We also make edged bindings and composite bindings with a fabric spine for premium editions. It can be made with a dust jacket.
What is the structure of a hardcover book?
The design includes: a book block (stitched or glued notebooks), a binding cover (made of cardboard, covered with a cover material), flyleafs (connecting the block to the lid) and a captal (ribbon on the spine). This design ensures durability and long service life.
What kind of paper do you recommend for the indoor unit?
We use offset paper with a density of 60-120 g/m2, depending on the type of publication. For art books with illustrations, we recommend coated paper of 90-130 g/m2. Offset paper of 80 g/m2 is optimal for classic novels — it does not shine through and is easy to read.
What methods of fastening pages (sewing) do you use?
For maximum durability, we recommend thread sewing — this is a classic method in which notebooks are sewn with threads, and the book opens completely without damaging the spine. For less voluminous editions, we use a strong adhesive seamless fastening (CBS).
What cover trim options are available?

We offer: selective foil coating (gold, silver), as well as full-color printing on the cover material followed by lamination for protection.

The following bindings can be used: bumvinyl, FEZA BULDAN, Daniel Original binding fabric

What is the minimum print run of hardcover books that can be ordered?

We make books from a single copy.

How long does it take to produce a print run?

The standard production time is from 2 to 14 working days, depending on the volume of the book, the complexity of the binding work and the circulation. The term includes prepress preparation, printing, bookbinding and drying.

Do you provide layout and proofreading services?
Yes, we provide a full range of services: from proofreading and text editing to professional layout, creating a cover layout and preparing for printing. Our experts will ensure that your book meets all printing standards.
Is it possible to get a trial copy before printing the print run?
Yes, we produce a trial copy (mock-up) of the book, which allows us to evaluate the quality of paper, printing, binding and all finishing elements. This is especially important for authors and publishers before launching the main circulation.
